Team Longcrier does the Heart Walk
In September, many of the employees of Longcrier & Associates took part in the 2011 SLO Heart Walk in Avila Beach. The team was very excited to participate in the event this year, with its cause – to end heart disease and stroke – striking close to home. In 2007, partner Andy Cone passed away suddenly from a heart attack as tax season was coming to a close. ”It was a real wake up call that we all need to be taking care of our health, even if we are tremendously busy with work,” says Wayne Longcrier.
That sentiment has resonated with the employees of Longcrier & Associates, many of whom knew and worked with Andy. Several of the employees are runners with Wayne Longcrier recently completing the City to Sea half marathon, Hillary Trout and Chris Raymer racing each other in the 25k Montana de Oro trail run, and Matt Martin and Sheri Boscaro making running part of their fitness regimen. Sue Cosper has taken up a love of hiking and riding her beach cruiser while JayMe Phillips and Gayle Harbert are hitting the gym. The firm also has a regular lunch-time walking group with Sue Reddy, Jaime Voss, and Valarie Koos regularly lacing up their walking shoes mid-day. Never before has the firm had such a fit group of accountants.
