Are You Ready to Start Your Future?
Longcrier & Associates CPAs, LLP is a premiere accounting firm serving the Central Coast with offices in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. The professionals at Longcrier & Associates approach accounting and taxation with the same entrepreneurial spirit and dedication as our clients have when approaching their own businesses and financial situation. We value our client relationships and their success. Our firm adopts a multidisciplinary approach in providing our accounting services based on deep industry knowledge.
We are a career destination looking to grow our firm. We encourage and empower our employees to fulfill their career goals. If you have the initiative to expand your knowledge and experience, our firm could possibly be the place for you. Many of our current partners, managers and employees have been with Longcrier and Associates CPAs, LLP for ten or more years.
Explore our Culture
At Longcrier and Associates CPAs, LLP we still believe in that small town feeling. We support local organizations and are members or leaders of local professional affiliations. We are committed to providing close personal attention to our clients and their needs. We believe each employee should have the advantage of working with a manager and partner to gain knowledge and experience. Our internship program requires individuals to complete Tax Returns from start to finish with assistance from our staff. We feel being a smaller firm and having an open door policy provides our employees a unique learning environment, which in turn helps our firm thrive.
As a company we offer competitive wages, vacation and sick time, medical benefits, a stipend for passing the CPA exam, paid testing of the CPA exam, paid professional licensing/dues as well as access to internal and external continuing education. We encourage each employee to be active in the community and have a healthy work-life balance. Our atmosphere is relaxed but professional with “Longcrier” business/casual attire (ie. when appropriate, jeans can be worn in the office).
Tax season can be long and tiring, so we try hard as a firm to make sure our employees understand our appreciation of their hard work. Some of the activities we host for our team are multiple tax deadline celebrations, holiday parties, beer & wine tours, sponsoring sporting events, support of non-profit fundraisers our team is passionate about, and periodic social happy hours.
What We Look For
We truly view our firm as a team, knowing about you as well as you understanding our expectations is an important part of our culture. Whether you are a student looking for an internship or seasoned public accountant, there are several qualities we look for in potential candidates for our firm.
Self-Starter We look for self-motivated employees who want to grow themselves both professionally and personally. We are not a firm that micro-manages our employees, so being a self-starter with the support of our team enables our employees to reach their fullest potential.
Love Where You Live We love living on the Central Coast. Most of our team is not originally from here, but moved here to attend Cal Poly and fell in love with the area, weather, and people.
Work / Life Balance Our firm practices work-life-balance from partner to new hire. Every person at the firm has numerous hobbies that help keep their sanity during the long and stressful tax season. After all, we don’t choose to live on the Central Coast only to be chained to our desks.
Passionate Many people may hear “passionate” and think about an excitable or intense person. While these qualities are not bad, this is not how we define passionate. We want an individual who loves what they do because it has been said “if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life”. Living on the Central Coast and recognizing it as truly a special place, plays a very important part of our firm’s culture. We value someone who is part of the community and serves others who are in need.
Opportunities
We routinely hire tax season interns to assist during the busy tax season from January through April each year. Most of the interns have come from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, which has allowed them to continue to live where they work. We work with the interns’ schedule if they are continuing coursework during their internship.
We are at the Cal Poly Fall Symposium and typically do our on-campus interviews in October shortly after the event. Make sure to come by our booth at the symposium to meet some of our team and keep an eye out for our job listing on Handshake.
As the need arises, our firm also hires newly graduated and seasoned professionals when we find a candidate which we feel is a good fit for our team.
